During the postpartum period, our doulas can help you with questions and challenges related to breastfeeding. They can help with basic latch techniques, positioning, breast pumps (e.g., sterilization), and encouragement. Postpartum doulas take care of you day and night, ensuring you rest and eat well and creating a comfortable environment.
If breastfeeding is difficult, like a painful latche, or when you have for example concerns about the baby's weight, we can help you find the proper lactation support. Among our associates, four doulas are certified lactation/breastfeeding consultants. If, due to the circumstances, more specialized support is needed we can also work with other care providers (whose services tend to be covered by health insurance):

Irene Kim is a licensed counselor and is also certified as a Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) counselor. Irene graduated with a Master's in Clinical Community Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and has extensive experience working with both children and adults in critical backgrounds with a variety of mental health disorders and trauma, and has also worked with the perinatal population for over 10 years as a doula and birth educator. |

Some families giving birth do not have close family or trustworthy babysitters available to help with their other kids. We offer on-call sibling support from 38 weeks to care for any older children during childbirth. This includes a one-hour get-to-know-you visit and 12—or 24-hour continuous care during labor and birth.
We offer sibling support for $950 for the first 12 hours. $50/hour after that until 24 hours maximum. So the next 12 hours will be $600 |
