Our team embodies the modern meaning of the ancient Greek word "doula" in every aspect of our care. All team members have been screened and meet the training and certification standards for doulas and lactation consultants. Organizations such as DONA International, Lifespan Doulas, ProDoula, DTI, and the International Doula Institute set these standards.
In addition, the Doulas followed a wide range of other relevant trainings. They may have taken complementary training courses, such as Spinning Babies, Rebozo, Hypnobirthing, or specific childbirth and newborn care education. Examples of specific education include the Bradley Method, Lamaze for Childbirth Education, lactation support, and pediatric sleep training. Several of us also have experience with vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) and tons of other experience.
