Group Classes: Preparing for Childbirth

The 4-hour Childbirth Class and Newborn Care & Basic Breastfeeding Class (held on Saturdays in Rockville) provide invaluable knowledge, guidance, and support as you embark on parenthood. By attending these classes with other expecting parents, you can share experiences, learn essential ways to protect your baby’s health, and get answers to your questions. We also offer Personal Classes for those interested.

Childbirth Class

​​Welcome to our comprehensive 4-hour childbirth class, where we will explore a wide range of essential topics to empower your birthing process. This class covers critical topics to help you protect both maternal and baby health during pregnancy, labor, and birth. We will provide Evidence-Based Information to empower you and your partner to make informed decisions throughout your birthing journey.


The group size is limited to 6 couples to allow for personal attention (one of our key values) and plenty of time for questions.​

Class topics include:

  • 3rd-semester overview
  • Stages of labor
  • Comfort techniques
  • Partner support skills and strategies
  • Impact of birth procedures on your baby’s health and well-being
  • Common medical procedures
  • Cesarean birth
  • Decision-making & birth planning​​​

Newborn Care and Basic Breastfeeding Class

​Welcome to our comprehensive four-hour newborn care and introductory breastfeeding class. This class explores a wide range of essential topics to empower you on your journey to parenthood.

​The group size is limited to 6 couples to allow for personal attention (one of our key values) and time for questions. ​

  • Crying & comforting strategies
  • Breastfeeding basics and nutrition for optimal baby’s health
  • Diapering
  • Bathing, nail care, & dressing

  • Home & sleep safety guidelines to protect your baby’s health
