Breastfeeding and Lactation Support

Breastfeeding

During the postpartum period, our doulas can help you with questions and challenges related to breastfeeding. They can assist with basic latch techniques, positioning, breast pump use (e.g., sterilization), and encourage. Postpartum doulas take care of you day and night, ensuring you rest and eat well and creating a comfortable environment.

If breastfeeding is difficult, such as due to a painful latch or concerns about the baby's weight, we can help you find the proper lactation support. Among our associates, four doulas are certified lactation and breastfeeding consultants.

If, due to the circumstances, more specialized support is needed, we can also work with other care providers (whose services tend to be covered by health insurance):

Preserving Your Growing Family’s Story, Unscripted, we’re thrilled to connect you with Mel Usry, a documentary-style family photographer, to offer our clients a truly unique way to preserve the journey of your growing family.

What is documentary photography? It is about capturing your story as it is—not a staged version. It is unscripted; there is no posing, no directing, and no pressure to perform. It allows you and your partner to present and connect, while Mel quietly and respectfully observes and preserves the real, honest moments unfolding around you.
It’s the best way to capture your family’s deep connections and unhurried rhythms in this season of your life without feeling like a formal photo shoot. Mel’s photography is rooted in celebrating the authentic bonds and natural beauty of your family, exactly as you are.

What services does Mel Usry Photography offer? Mel offers packages designed to capture the most meaningful chapters of your journey:
  • The OHANA Essential is a shortened documentary experience lasting approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours. This may be ideal for capturing the beautiful, quiet anticipation of a maternity session – in a relaxed environment at home or in special moments at the birthplace/hospital.
  • The OHANA Signature is a full documentary experience ranging from 4-8 hours. This may be ideal for documenting the full story of your “Welcome Home” transition, capturing the beautiful, messy, and deeply meaningful shift of settling in at home.

As a client of Doula Nathalie & Associates, you are eligible for an exclusive 10% discount on your session! You can see more of Mel’s honest, heartfelt work, read more about these services on her Website, and connect with her on Instagram (@melusryphoto) or Facebook (Mel Usry Photography).
