Personal Newborn Care & Breastfeeding Class

Our Newborn Care & Basic Breastfeeding Class offers expectant mothers and their partners a valuable opportunity to prepare for the breastfeeding journey and address any questions they may have before their baby's arrival.

The comprehensive curriculum on newborn care covers understanding baby cues, communication, appearance, and sleep patterns, equipping parents to interpret their newborn's needs effectively. Furthermore, we will guide you through newborn care, covering essential hospital procedures, the APGAR score, reducing the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), and the baby blues.

In addition to the newborn care, the class also covers essential breastfeeding topics, including establishing optimal breastfeeding/lactation practices and guiding parents on assisting their infant with latching and achieving correct positioning. We will also explore crucial aspects, including determining if the baby is receiving enough milk, techniques to prevent common breastfeeding issues such as engorgement and mastitis, and when to seek assistance from a lactation professional.
